"2011 Michigan Prevention Association Award Recepients!"
The Michigan Prevention Association 2011 Prevention Organization of the year award was accepted by Marie Hansen, Business Manager, on behave of Michigan Alcohol Policy (MAP), at the Burning Issues in Prevention 2011 Workshop. MAP works with a network of organizations and individuals who advocate for changes in laws, policies, and practices that reduce the availability of alcohol, especially to youth; increase the effectiveness of enforcement and intervention; and increase the availability of treatment and support for recovery.
The Michigan Prevention Association 2011 Preventionist of the Year award was given to Ann Comiskey, in recognition for her model achievements and leadership in promoting prevention on the local, state and national levels. Community prevention and community coalitions are immensely stronger because of Ann's contribution.

makes prevention a priority, and unites prevention advocates across disciplines to create a large, vocal constituency on behalf of prevention efforts throughout the human life span.
